Abstract

This research aims to establish standard levels of physical abilities for young football players, as selection indicators for the 9-13 age group in football academies and schools in Benghazi. The descriptive method was used, and the research sample was selected using stratified random sampling. The sample consisted of 40 young players from four academies. The results showed that the level of young players in most physical tests was high, with the majority achieving scores between very good and good. Furthermore, the sample achieved scores above average in speed, speed-strength, agility, and flexibility tests, ranging between 52.5% and 75%. This indicates a high level of performance among the sample in these tests. The research also established four standard levels for the physical abilities tests under study: very good, good, average, and weak. These levels are suitable for selection and evaluation.
