Abstract

The study aimed to explore the potential of applying blockchain technology to improve the quality of electronic banking transfers. It also aimed to determine whether there were statistically significant differences in participants' opinions regarding the potential of applying blockchain technology to improve the quality of electronic banking transfer services attributable to certain personal variables. To achieve the study's objectives, the study followed a descriptive-analytical approach. A questionnaire was used as the primary tool for data collection. The study population comprised all (40) employees of the National Commercial Bank in Derna. After distributing the questionnaires, (34) valid questionnaires were retrieved for statistical analysis. The statistical analysis program (SPSS) was used to analyze the study data, and several results were reached, which can be summarized as follows: The study demonstrated a high level of readiness at the National Commercial Bank in Derna to adopt blockchain technology. Participants also expressed a generally positive perception of customer use of blockchain technology. However, acceptance was linked to factors such as trust in the bank, security assurance, and ease of use. The study also concluded that there were no statistically significant differences across demographic variables. The results of the ANOVA showed no statistically significant differences in participants' opinions attributed to age, qualifications, specialization, job title, or length of service, indicating a uniform professional awareness of the technology. The study made several recommendations, which should be followed, regarding the need to address technical gaps and provide specialized training programs for banking professionals on blockchain applications.
