peer review policy
The Journal of Economics and Political Science (JEPS) employs a rigorous peer-review process to ensure the academic quality and integrity of all submitted manuscripts.
Peer-Review Assignment
-
After the initial editorial screening, manuscripts are reviewed by at least two independent experts in the relevant field.
-
The journal follows a double-blind review model, in which both authors and reviewers remain anonymous to each other throughout the process.
-
Peer-review comments are treated as confidential and are disclosed only with the explicit consent of the reviewer.
Characteristics of the Peer-Review Process
-
All research manuscripts are evaluated by a minimum of two qualified experts based on academic rigor, originality, clarity, and relevance to the journal’s scope.
-
Reviewers are given 28 days to complete their evaluations. If no response is received within this period, the invitation is withdrawn, and another reviewer is assigned.
-
Each review must provide constructive, clear, and objective feedback to help authors improve their work.
Communication with Corresponding Author
-
The corresponding author receives a notification once reviewer comments are submitted to JEPS.
-
The assigned editor reviews the comments and sends them to the corresponding author, with or without additional editorial feedback.
-
The corresponding author is required to submit a revised manuscript addressing all reviewer and editor comments within three weeks.
-
Failure to submit within the given timeframe will result in the manuscript being considered withdrawn, and its record removed from the editorial system.
Revised Manuscripts
-
Revised submissions may be sent to the original reviewers for reevaluation if substantial changes have been made.
-
Editors may request additional clarifications or data where necessary to ensure academic accuracy and transparency.
Publication Decision
-
The Editor-in-Chief, in consultation with the Editorial Board, makes the final decision on acceptance, revision, or rejection based on the reviewers’ recommendations and editorial judgment.
Timeline
-
Under normal conditions, the full peer-review and decision process—from submission to final decision—typically takes 6 to 8 weeks, depending on reviewer response times and the extent of revisions required.
