Abstract

The research aims to identify the reality of inflation rates and levels of domestic public debt, and to explain the nature and strength of the relationship that could link the latter to inflationary pressures, using macroeconomic indicators and a chronology extending from 1985 to The study relied on a descriptive method of analysis to present theoretical frameworks and concepts, and to clarify the ideas put forward in economic literature and theory, in addition to what was stated in theoretical and applied studies that dealt with the subject of study by measurement and analysis. It also relied on the method of economic measurement, through the use of modern statistical and standard tools, tests and approaches. The study concluded with several results, the most prominent of which are: that the level of domestic prices is linked to a weak inverse and significant relationship with domestic public debt in the long term, and no significant relationship was proven between them in the short term.
