Author Roles and Responsibilities at the Journal of the Faculty of Languages, University of Tripoli

Authors bear the primary responsibility for ensuring the integrity of their research and adhering to the high ethical standards upheld by the Journal of the Faculty of Languages at the University of Tripoli. Authors must abide by the following guidelines:

  • Originality and Scientific Integrity: Authors must submit original work that has not been previously published. Simultaneous submission to multiple journals is strictly prohibited. Fabricated data or manipulated results constitute scientific fraud, which will lead to the rejection of the manuscript and potential institutional action.
  • Intellectual Property Rights: Authors must obtain written permission for the use of any copyrighted material (e.g., figures, images, or extended text) and provide appropriate attribution. "Citation manipulation"—the inclusion of unnecessary citations to artificially increase citation counts—is an unacceptable practice.
  • Collaborative Accountability: Authorship must be limited to those who have made a significant contribution to the conception, design, execution, or analysis of the study. All contributors, including students or technical staff, must be acknowledged appropriately.
  • Transparency and Disclosure: Authors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest (financial, institutional, or personal) and declare all sources of research funding or institutional support.
  • Ethical Treatment of Participants: When conducting field or clinical research, authors must protect participant privacy and avoid publishing identifying information (e.g., names or faces). Authors must obtain informed written consent from participants and provide evidence of ethical approval from the relevant authorities when using human or animal subjects.
  • Post-Publication Responsibility: Authors are expected to engage constructively with peer-review feedback. Furthermore, they are responsible for responding to post-publication inquiries and taking necessary steps to correct any errors discovered after the paper is published.
