Editorial Roles and Responsibilities

The Editorial Board of the Journal of the Faculty of Languages at the University of Tripoli comprises experts in various fields relevant to the journal's scope. Led by the Editor-in-Chief, the Board is responsible for the final decisions throughout the publication process. Their key duties include:

• Editorial Authority: The Editor-in-Chief holds the final authority to determine whether a submitted manuscript falls within the journal’s scope and has the mandate to accept or reject it upon initial submission.
• Compliance with Policies: The Editorial Board adheres to the publishing policies set by the University of Tripoli and is committed to national and international standards regarding publication ethics, human and animal rights, and environmental considerations, under the supervision of the University’s Ethics Committee.
• Peer Review Process: The Editor evaluates the manuscript's relevance, originality, and topicality before referring it for peer review. Editors must ensure manuscripts are sent to specialized reviewers and comply with their recommendations regarding acceptance or rejection.
• Impartiality and Integrity: Editors must remain impartial in their decisions, ensuring the anonymity of authors to avoid bias. Furthermore, in the event of a conflict of interest (personal, institutional, or financial), the Editor must disclose it and refrain from making any decisions regarding the manuscript.
• Plagiarism and Transparency: Editors are responsible for using internationally recognized anti-plagiarism tools to ensure the originality of the work, maintaining full transparency in the evaluation process.
• Protection of Intellectual Property: Editors may not share or use any unpublished content without explicit permission from the author, in accordance with intellectual property protection protocols.
• Standardization and Quality Assurance: The Editor works with authors to ensure that manuscripts are formatted according to the style guide of the Journal of the Faculty of Languages at the University of Tripoli and ensures strict adherence to the journal’s editorial policies before publication.
