I. Author Rights

Authors retain the rights granted under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0), in addition to the following guarantees:

  1. Academic Freedom: Authors have the freedom to choose their research topics, provided they align with the Journal’s scope and focus areas.
  2. Protection of Academic Reputation: Authors have the right to claim authorship and object to any distortion, mutilation, or modification of their work that could damage their professional reputation or contradict the terms agreed upon with the Journal. Authors reserve the right to withdraw their work if such violations occur.
  3. Transparent Evaluation: Authors are guaranteed that their work will be evaluated by qualified peer reviewers within the field. Authors are entitled to receive written feedback and academic assessments based on the Journal’s standard review templates. The Journal ensures the anonymity of reviewers and the confidentiality of the review process.
  4. Right of Withdrawal: Authors have the right to withdraw their manuscript at any stage prior to the commencement of the peer-review process.
  5. Final Content Review: The Journal respects the author’s right to review and approve any substantive changes (e.g., objectives, findings, or interpretations) before final publication.
  6. Right of Reply: In cases where a manuscript is rejected due to administrative or ethical concerns (such as plagiarism or dual submission), the author has the right to appeal by submitting a formal response within ten (10) working days. Failure to respond within this period will be deemed as an acknowledgment of the validity of the Journal’s findings.
  7. Archiving Rights: Authors are permitted to deposit their research in open-access repositories, provided they clearly cite the original publication in the Journal of the Faculty of Languages at the University of Tripoli.

II. Author Responsibilities

Authors bear full responsibility for the content of their research and must adhere to the following regulations:

  1. Originality and Legal Accountability: Authors must ensure their work is original and has not been previously published or submitted elsewhere (including conferences or seminars). Authors are required to provide a written commitment to this effect. Authors assume full legal liability for any claims related to copyright or intellectual property infringement and must indemnify the Journal against any such legal consequences.
  2. Academic Integrity: Authors must uphold all publication ethics. Any form of fraud, plagiarism, or manipulation will be considered an "academic crime," resulting in the rejection or retraction of the manuscript and potential debarment from future submissions. The Journal reserves the right to report such violations to relevant national and international academic bodies.
  3. Responsiveness to Reviewers: Acceptance of a manuscript is conditional upon the author’s response to the reviewers’ comments. Failure to address significant requested revisions may result in the rejection of the article.
  4. Linguistic and Scientific Quality: Authors are responsible for ensuring their manuscript is free from linguistic, grammatical, and typographical errors. The manuscript must be thoroughly proofread before submission.
  5. Strict Adherence to Guidelines: Authors must comply with all submission rules and publishing policies established by the Journal of the Faculty of Languages at the University of Tripoli.
  6. Proper Citation: Authors must strictly adhere to authorized citation styles, ensuring all sources are properly credited to recognize the intellectual contributions of others.
  7. External Repository Requirements: When depositing research in external repositories (e.g., ResearchGate, arXiv), authors must use the following attribution: "This article was originally published in the Journal of the Faculty of Languages, University of Tripoli, under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0)."
  8. Derived Works: If an author makes modifications to the originally published work, any derivative versions must be shared under the same license (CC BY 4.0). Authors must not impose any additional technical or legal restrictions on the rights granted by the license and must clearly document any changes made to the original work.
