The field of sports has witnessed remarkable development in recent years as a result of rapid technological progress, especially with the emergence of artificial intelligence applications that are increasingly used in training, performance analysis, and physical evaluation. Artificial intelligence technologies have contributed significantly to improving sports performance through the use of smart systems capable of analyzing athletes’ movements, designing individualized training programs, predicting injuries, and monitoring physiological and psychological indicators. This study aims to highlight the role of artificial intelligence technologies in improving sports performance among students of physical education, while identifying the most important smart applications used in modern sports training. The study also discusses the major challenges facing the integration of these technologies within university sports institutions. The researchers adopted the descriptive analytical approach by reviewing and analyzing recent studies and scientific literature related to artificial intelligence in sports. The results revealed that artificial intelligence has become an essential tool in enhancing physical and technical performance, improving the quality of sports training, reducing sports injuries, and supporting the educational process in faculties of physical education. The study recommends the necessity of integrating artificial intelligence applications into sports education curricula, providing technological infrastructure, and training teachers and coaches to effectively use modern smart technologies in the field of sports.
