Plagiarism and Generative AI Policy

The Libyan Journal of Agriculture is strictly committed to upholding the highest standards of integrity, publication ethics, and intellectual property protection. To ensure the originality of academic research, all submitted manuscripts undergo mandatory and rigorous plagiarism screening using global industry-standard platforms (iThenticate / Turnitin) prior to the peer-review process.

1. Similarity Index Thresholds and Criteria:

The evaluation of similarity reports generated by the detection system is based on the following structural levels:

  • Similarity Index (5% - 10%): Low risk. The document contains acceptable and properly cited similarity (ACCEPTABLE).

  • Similarity Index (11% - 25%): Moderate risk. The manuscript contains noticeable plagiarism or sequential overlap. Authors are required to carefully revise and paraphrase the highlighted text before progressing further (ACCEPTABLE PENDING REVISION).

  • Similarity Index above 25%: High risk. The document contains critical levels of plagiarism or widespread copying. The manuscript will be instantly and automatically rejected by the Editorial Board without being sent to reviewers (AUTOMATIC REJECTION).

2. Generative AI and AI-Assisted Technologies Policy:

  • The journal recognizes the potential of generative AI tools to assist authors in improving language clarity, editing, and proofreading, provided that the overall contribution of these tools does not exceed 10% of the manuscript.

  • The use of AI tools to synthesize core research ideas, write experimental findings, or generate fabricated data and graphics is strictly prohibited.

  • Authors must explicitly declare the use of any generative AI tools, including the specific software used, within the "Declaration" section of the manuscript.
