About the Journal

The Libyan Journal of Agriculture is considered one of the most important publications of the College of Agriculture at the University of Tripoli. It is a peer-reviewed, semi-annual scientific journal, supervised by a group of faculty members who form the editorial board. The board is officially appointed by a decision issued by the President of the University.

The inaugural issue of the first volume of the Libyan Journal of Agriculture was published in 1971. Since then, the journal has maintained a consistent publication schedule of two issues per year. Marking a significant milestone, the twenty-sixth volume (2021) was officially launched digitally on its dedicated website hosted by the University of Tripoli platform.

Throughout its rich history, the Libyan Journal of Agriculture has played a pivotal role in disseminating rigorous, peer-reviewed scientific research within agricultural sciences, technologies, and related disciplines. Every manuscript undergoes a strict evaluation process by specialized experts prior to publication. Consequently, the journal has established itself as a premier academic reference and a vital repository of scientific data in global libraries, serving researchers, faculty members, and students alike.

While the journal’s earlier volumes were traditionally printed in paper format, it has fully adapted to contemporary global technological advancements in digital publishing. The establishment of its official electronic portal within the University of Tripoli’s platform now provides researchers with seamless, open access to the complete archive of published scientific literatur

The journal accepts refereed scientific research encompassing the results of original studies and research in the fields of agricultural science and technology. It also welcomes scientific interventions, commentaries, or reviews in response to newly published books or research papers published either in this journal or other peer-reviewed journals within the specialty. Additionally, the journal publishes peer-reviewed research and scientific studies presented at scientific conferences and symposiums within its scope, provided that the official proceedings of the respective conference or symposium have not been independently published.

To create a robust platform for scientific communication among researchers across various agricultural fields, facilitating the publication of rigorous scientific research with absolute integrity and professionalism, while consistently maintaining a distinguished and high-quality academic standard.

Goals

1. To publish the journal both in print and electronically, making it globally accessible through digital networks and striving toward internationalization by welcoming submissions from researchers worldwide.
2. To publish sound scientific papers and research in the fields of agricultural sciences, technologies, and related disciplines.
3. To encourage local and regional researchers to actively participate by publishing their original scientific work.
4. To establish reliable communication channels with researchers and specialists in relevant scientific and research institutions worldwide.

Types of Acceptable Submissions

1. Original Research Papers: Full-length articles presenting the results of original studies and research in agricultural sciences and technologies. Innovative or preliminary scientific research may also be accepted as Short Notes.
2. Review Articles: Comprehensive reviews on modern, prominent, and distinguished topics within agricultural sciences.
3. Scientific Interventions & Book Reviews: Commentaries or critical analyses of research published in the journal or similar publications, as well as proposals aimed at developing scientific research in various agricultural fields.
4. Conference Proceedings: Refereed scientific studies presented at specialized conferences and symposia, provided that no official proceedings book has been issued for that event.

Article Submission Guidelines

Research papers must be submitted alongside the journal’s official filing form, explicitly stating the main author's name and affiliation, the article title, submission date, and signature. The completed filing form should be accompanied by three printed copies and one digital copy of the manuscript.
