Abstract

This research deals with study of the change in the concentration of some nutrients resulting from the fallen leaves of Aleppo pine plant. This study was aiming to the determination of Nitrogen, Phosphorus, and Manganese during the stages of decomposition of the fallen needle Litter of Aleppo pine (Pinus halepensis Mil.) I grow at Sidi Muhammad Al-Hamri region, at two different sites. For this purpose, made from plant residues (Litter bags) were used. Approximately 0.7 grams of fallen needles of pine were placed inside the bags, and incubated under Pinus halepensis trees at the two sites. for 5 months, starting from 31 October, 2006 and ending on 28 February, 2007.Fifteen bags were monthly collected from the two sites, and leaf samples were then ground and digested to measure the amount of Nitrogen, Phosphorus and Manganese. The results showed no Significant differences at 0.05 in the concentrations of Nitrogen, Phosphorus, and Manganese. The results of the study also showed a change in the Concentration of Nutrients during the stages of decomposition depending on the Leaves surrounding conditions. further studies will enable us to raise the effect of decomposition on soil quality and the effect of climate on decomposition and identify the microorganisms that participate in decomposition.
